The Most Horrible Story Ever Told.

“Black Industries regret to announce that Dark Heresy: Disciples of the Dark Gods out in September will be the final product to be released from Black Industries.

Kevin Rountree General Manager of BL Publishing said ‘As a result of the continued and impressive success of our core novels business, which we have built around 40K and Warhammer, we have decided to focus all of our efforts on growing this part of our business. Black Industries has seen fantastic success, most recently with Talisman and Dark Heresy. This change does not take away from that achievement rather it allows BL Publishing to focus on producing the best novels we can. This is a purely commercial decision and will enable us to carry on the huge growth that we have recently been experiencing with our novels’

For the time being Black Industries will continue to post articles in support of the products on their official website, which is a fantastic resource for scenarios and gaming tools for GM’s and players alike.”

I think this says it all…a terrible day in the world of Warhammer RPGs.

  1. Well this isnt so terrible. You know if this RPG does really really well in the next few months they will just have someone else publish the stuff for them.

  2. Im a big support of Black Industries and I have to say one thing.

HOLY SHIT! This is truly a sad day, regardless if GW gets someone else to publish their stuff, Black industries has shown a lot of care for their community, let alone their products.

I will be gladly buying Dark Heresy from them. Least the company is not “dead”, just focusing on novels instead but does this mean no more RPG content?

  3. WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?

The release Dark Heresy, and already have plans to stop releasing more material?!

  4. *goes on knees* NNNNOOOOO!!! *darth vader style*

Seriously, not cool. I just hope that someone picks it up. Yes the books are interesting, but the rpgs are amazing.

  5. Any word if they’re going to stop making Talisman? Hrm…I’m thinking I’d better hustle and get a copy of my own.

  6. *jaw hits ground*

  7. Umm, boo? I’m more of a book-reader than an RP’er, so this doesn’t affect me much. Be that as it may, it does suck righteously for those who do.

  8. WTF! I just don’t understand, the new 40k book is sold out and they are going to Discontinue The RPG’s? Yes Im sure they are more costly for them to make then their Novels but Damn. Its like they never gave it a chance.

  9. what happens when its time for a new addition? OR supplements to add classes and races maybe? Campaign books?. I’m talking WFRP and 40k RP. Is BL going to push them out now instead like very 5 years or w/e?

  10. no I think its a full halt in the making of new materials, anything they have planed now will come out but after that until BI is reformed they wont make anything new, however this doesn’t mean Green Ronin will stop producing the books already made released at the time of BIs closure.

  11. its not that big of a hit actually when you think about it considering - Purge the Unclean will have quests, The Inquisitor’s Handbook will be a armory guide along with the addition of the Adeptus Sororitas class, and Disciples of the Dark Gods will be the bestiary rounding off the essentials of Warhammer 40K DH along with the fact that if theres a good community people will come out with new things also.

  12. Well even with user created content, having the specific content from the creators will be greatly missed since they have the ability to create something new as a whole where as the community stuff usually will have to go along with the current rule set. Still a great disappointment :(

  13. actually the WFRP community makes rules some times there not official but o well.

  14. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why the hell would they do such a thing :enraged:
