  1. Awesome! Their old site was an embarrassment…

  2. Nice!

  3. nice going to take a lot of getting use to thats for sure.

  4. I really like the new site. Although it has a bit of a lag.

  5. Not too shabby. Much better as far as the format, but I agree with Mitch, there does seem to be some lag.

  6. MUCH better than their old site. Could never find important info on that old on. I guess we’ll see how this one fairs in time.

  7. I hate the new website. So much in fact I sent them a formal letter.

“I wanted to tell you I hate the new website. I is like one giant store, and I feel like when I’m there I am constantly being pushed/forced into buying something, like that is all you care about, getting my dollar. The old site was a cool place to go to, where I could spend hours reading about armies, and learning new things from he fluff. Now that is all gone, and what few articles you left are not only hard to find, but not that interesting. Thank you for ruining one of my favorite ways to pass the time, now I will have to go to other websites.”

  8. I agree with kettilman, the new website sucks. Everything was very easy before, i could find fluff easily, i could find hobby articles easily, and it was actually much easier to shop on the old site. Now i see no reason to buy anything direct from GW when i can just go to highway hobby.

Its because of crap like this that GW is losing money.

  9. I do see your guys’ points on it being a very marketing first hobby second website. My opinion was more from a technical standpoint….as it always is lol.

I remember a few years ago spending hours trying to find the information on their website about that year’s Games Day Toronto. I just bookmarked it after that (still use that link to this day for their info on it) so I wouldn’t have to go through all of that again…

  10. wooo wooo. Helbrecht leading the way.
Maybe they’ll update the portuguese site, it was really embarrassing

  11. Is the Games Day stuff even on the site now? A few days ago I was looking at past golden demon winners pics of models. That’s all gone now.

  12. I am very annoyed that the website was changed, and I hope they give a link to the old one. It wasa wonderful collection of hobby articles, with a definite border between product and hobby, but that is gone now. I am hoping games workshop will modify their website, or I will just use he UK one instead.

  13. well for myself after spending a few hours surfing it, i have found this new layout to be just as easy as the last, it is only a new style, which i find appealing… But i do have to agree with our angry fans out there about how it is a “sell sell sell” first and “hobby” second… I am disapointed but not suprised… GW has been showing those signs latly when they let the game industry slack their asses off for dark crusade and soul storm… but DOW2 does look promising so far, lets hope it stays that way… but as i was saying… GW’s focus has shifted from loyal fans to making more money on the pick up and drop gamers. a sad sad road they have started to tred on.

  14. I think the new site rocks. All the content is there that was on the old site but easier to find and navigate to. It looks a ton better and the My GamesWorkshop page is awesome!

  15. The new website sucks!! it got rid of all the campaign fluff and i cant even find things i want to read about

  16. There seems to be quite some backlash against the new site. It seems as though the corporation that consists of Games Workshop is making some decisive directions. They’re leading the hobby on a charge in one direction now. The wrong one. Not to say that they’re not entitled to make money, its just that they seem to be betraying the fans gradually in favor of corporate interests. They’ve ’streamlined’ the new design, by displacing all of the fluff, a good majority of the hobby articles, and online content in favor of store links, articles aimed at new player articles (for), advertisement, and a swanky new layout (that takes much in time to navigate). As Sanchez before me has said, its geared towards overall commerce, rather than the consumer hobbyist him or herself. To me, its like a band finally selling out, except that GW has been selling itself out over a period of time, losing more of the hobby spirit as it cuts off the bitz catalog, closes stores nationwide, and then, this. This: a ‘new’ site, a more visually appealing shadow of it’s former self, that gives me more advertisements than content, which makes up for its gradual loss of the hobby soul with a new aesthetics.

  17. I think that the new site is crap. The old old one was easyer to understand and far less laggy. They should change it back, and as other people have said, their just trying to line their pockets rather than help the hobbyists. So I am really bummed that its happened.
