Capcom Loses the Talisman

According to IGN.com today the oldschool board game from GW will not be seen in video game format for a while.  As some of you may know Capcom was going to bring the popular board game to life on the PS3 Network, Xbox 360 Live, and PC.  Below is the offical story from IGN:

According to the Capcom Unity boards, Talisman has been canceled. Christian Svenson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development, posted:

“Rather recently we have finally stopped development completely. After a misfire at the start, the details of which I won’t get into, we evaluated several options for moving the project to new developers, but the costs of moving forward outweighted the potential revenue. I realize this will be disappointing for the fans of the game.

The rights have reverted back to Games Workshop where I hope someone will pick them up and try again. I too still would like to play a Talisman videogame.”

Talisman was set to be a videogame realization of the classic board game of the same name, playable online or off with up to four players on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.

This is a sad day but we may still see this game in the near future.
